‘A destination for the mind, body, soul and spirit’
I’m still in complete awe over the luxurious, relaxing and sensory spa staycation dream we experienced at the Spa at Carden. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more zen or happy, and I’ve certainly never had the opportunity to sit in a dressing gown in the Cheshire countryside during February. It was magical.
Carden Park is a luxurious Cheshire country estate known for its lovely hotel, fantastic restaurant, golf course and stunningly well-kept grounds, and they recently added to their already impressive offerings with a 10-million pound spa development, which opened in January of this year.
When they invited me to try out their spa alongside a stay in their hotel, you can imagine my sheer excitement! I obviously went straight to Instagram to stalk their gorgeous new sanctuary, but images are nothing compared to the actual spa. You can’t capture the carefully thought-out music, or photograph the top-notch service that has you feeling like an actual queen, and you most certainly cannot snapshot the gorgeous luxury scents swooping through each and every room within it.
Alas, I can certainly write about all of those features, so keep reading for a full review of the new Spa at Carden in Cheshire!
The Facilities at The Spa at Carden
Where to begin?! The Spa at Carden is like no spa I’ve ever experienced. They’re created an amazing outdoor journey taking you from a heated outdoor pool to a selection of gorgeous sunken hot tubs. You’re then able to refresh with a drink at their Bollinger garden bar, which you can then enjoy in one of their cosy heated garden pods. If that isn’t enough, take yourself over to their sauna, or sit around the fire pit and take it all in.
The thought of being outside in the UK in February might sound ludicrous, but trust me, it works. All of the experiences are heated and they have umbrellas everywhere if it were to rain – it makes sitting in a steaming hot tub and heated pool feel even more luxurious.
Inside are more experiences, with another heated pool complemented by heated loungers, which have amazing views of the outdoor area with a floor to ceiling glass wall. There are more saunas in their too, as well as experience showers. And then there’s the treatment rooms and relaxation rooms when you fancy lounging around like royalty!
Spa Treatments at Carden Park
We were lucky enough to experience a treatment each when we were there. It was a no-brainer for me – sitting at a desk all day makes my neck and back feel like that of an OAP’s, so I chose their Five Element Aroma Massage, and it was the best call.
I was asked to choose the type of music I would like prior to your treatment, and before starting, I was asked to fill out a short questionnaire to help the therapist determine which products and scents I would benefit from. It’s a really personalised treatment aimed at making sure you get the most out of it, as the different essential oil scents can target and trigger different feelings and emotions.
The massage itself is head-to-toe heaven, with the use of essential oils infusions from Elemental Herbology and herbal steam towels making it a gorgeous sensory massage. Not an inch of me left without feeling relaxed!
Keiran, who joined me on the trip, went for the Oskia Gentleman’s Facial. He left wishing it didn’t have to end, so I think that sums it up. His therapist asked him about his skin concerns and the facial goes through a deep cleanse, refresh and hydration, using gorgeous Oskia products.
The Food at Carden Park Spa
Chilling out is thirsty work, I tell ya, but luckily the spa has a lunch restaurant to help you refuel with fresh, clean and delicious food! I tried the fishcakes and Keiran had a coronation chicken bowl. Here, you can also enjoy a tipple or hot drink whilst looking out over the outdoor spa complex!
Speaking of tipple, they have a Bollinger treatment room where you can get a manicure whilst sipping on some fine champagne! What could be better?
The Hotel at Carden Park
Relaxation doesn’t start and finish at the spa. Oh no, the hotel honestly exceeded my expectations. Everything from the valet parking to the greeting as soon as you step through the door to the reception is impeccable. We were lucky enough to be given one of their garden suit rooms too, which was huge!
The suite boasted a balcony looking straight onto the new Spa development, a living area, huge bed, and gorgeous bathroom – complete with The White Company products so you can enjoy a relaxing soak!
If you’re looking for a luxury spa weekend in the UK, the Spa at Carden is an absolute must. It might be new, but they’ve thought about absolutely everything and mastered the service and experience. With so many luxurious treatments to choose from, and packages to suit your preferences, the spa really does offer something to everyone. I definitely recommend checking out their spa break packages as there are some brilliant details for such a first-class and high-end experience!
Thank you to the whole team for being so accommodating and inviting us to try the new spa! We will most definitely be back.
