It wouldn’t be an autumnal blog post without making some remark about the sudden temperature drop and darker nights, so here’s a comment about the temperature drop and darker nights…
Autumn is here!
I’m a big fan of cosy evenings and jumpers, so I’m welcoming autumn with open arms. After months apart from my beloved knitwear and far too many weekends of outfit repeating my spring/summer wardrobe (god forbid!), I’m pretty happy to be bringing my autumn/winter garments back out. However, it’s one outfit in particular that led to me feel inspired this autumn, and that’s the H&M x Richard Allan collaboration!
I saw an outfit from the collaboration on Instagram, and I immediately assumed it was from a designer label and way out of my reach, but lo and behold – it was from the high street! I literally marched into H&M the next day to check it out, and left a very happy customer…
Richard Allan is a designer famous for his gorgeous, bright and bold patterned scarves, and H&M hit a design goldmine by collaborating with the brand to bring its recognisable patterns to high street clothing items.
I don’t know how they’ve achieved it, but despite being quite bold, all of the skirts, tops, shirts and leggings are super versatile to wear. Each piece can be worn as part of an outfit from the collaboration for a cohesive and eye catching look, or the pieces can be easily paired with other items in your wardrobe. The striking 60’s-inspired patterns are eccentric, daring and flattering, all at once.
The most surprising part of this collaboration, is how unbelievably affordable it is. The price tag offers you the ability to add some fabulous staple statement pieces to your wardrobe whilst buying a full outfit for under £30! It’s not often you can buy a statement outfit for this price… or an outfit in general, so H&M have really pulled it out the bag.
The gorgeous autumnal patterns and colours make the whole H&M x Richard Allan collaboration a powerful one, with H&M rightly labelling it as wearable art. The collection offers great pieces to form a core part of your A/W collection for 2019, and there are styles perfect for workwear, casual wear, and occasion wear. If you haven’t already clicked to browse the collection by the end of this post, I’m shocked!
