Hey Jan, where’d you go?! Last month seemed to go in the blink of an eye, yet it also managed to feel like the longest month ever at the same time – I’ve been calling it the January curse.
Despite the dreaded month of January being notoriously difficult, I brightened it up with a few purchases and I’m heading into Feb with a few fashion favourites that I wanted to talk to you about. Keep reading to discover the styles I’m taking into February this year!
Extended Midi-Skirt Collection
That’s right, the midi skirt trend isn’t going away anytime soon – at least not in my wardrobe. I now have a good few midi skirts in my collection, and I unintentionally added another to my wardrobe in January. Turns out I can’t be trusted to ‘kill some time’ in New Look because I will 1000% come out with a new purchase – or several (introducing the beautiful leopard print skirt above).
Anyway, I’m loving introducing more skirts into my wardrobe. I used to associate them with dressier outfits but I’ve discovered just how versatile they can be. Paired with a jumper they look casual and chic, but with smart boots or heels they look so beautifully feminine. If you’ve been considering adding one to your wardrobe, I recommend treating yourself to see just how much wear you can actually get out of one! Particularly animal print midi-skirts which I am loving right now and expect to be wearing a lot of this month, and it’s difficult not to spot one in near enough every high street shop. Spoilt for choice!

Re-visiting the Blazer
I loved my oversized Zara blazer at the beginning of last year, but from summer onwards, it went back in the wardrobe never to be used again (gosh that sounds depressing, sorry blazer). However, I recently got some serious blazer inspo from a couple of my favourite fashion accounts on Instagram and I’ve fallen back in love with adding a blazer to my outfit.
I was limiting my blazer-wear because I just wasn’t considering pairing one with anything other than a light T-shirt or blouse, when in fact it looks great styled over some winter jumpers during these cold temperatures. I’m now feeling inspired to wear it with more of my casual outfits that could do with that added layer, and it’s giving me more flexibility to mix up some of my favourite looks! If you want to freshen up a few of your outfits, why not mix it up with a blazer?

Focusing More on Accessories
I guess you could say I’m usually pretty dull when it comes to accessories and jewellery, in that I have my daily ‘go to’ items that I rarely stray from. However, over the last few months I have been gifted some beautiful items that have helped me to become a little more varied and exciting with my accessories, and my current favourite is my beautiful new Adexe Petite Berry Freerunner watch!
Adexe are a beautiful watch brand that kindly gifted me with the watch of my choice, and I couldn’t be happier or more impressed with my new accessory! All of their beautiful watches are made in the UK and each comes with a change of strap so you can change the style depending on your outfit – or mood! This is definitely helping me to mix it up a little more with my accessories this year, and I’m enjoying styling my outfits with a range of accessories, from watches to layered necklaces.
